Stacie Grossfeld

Stacie Lynne Grossfeld is a board certified orthopedic surgeon practicing in Louisville, Kentucky, at Orthopaedic Specialists.
Biography
Her orthopedic medical practice is located on the campus of Baptist Hospital East. Dr. Grossfeld performs a wide range of orthopedic surgeries and procedures every year. In 2011 she performed 178 knee cases, 153 shoulder cases, and 161 various other orthopedic surgeries, for a total of 492 cases. Dr. Grossfeld's special interests as an orthopedic surgeon include knee and shoulder reconstruction and sports medicine. Dr. Grossfeld was selected to receive the Patients' Choice Award for 2012, a prestigious honor only given to physicians who receive the highest level of patient scores. She was also recently ranked in the top 10 orthopedic physicians in Louisville, Kentucky, by American Top 10. In her free time when not working as an orthopedic surgeon, she enjoys playing competitive tennis, bike riding and cross-country skiing.
In addition to her practice as an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Grossfeld is also an Assistant Clinical Professor for the Sports Medicine Fellowship Program at the University of Louisville and Instructor in the Department of Family Medicine and the Department of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Dr. Grossfeld provides ongoing training to dozens of medical students throughout the year at her medical practice, Orthopaedic Specialists.
Dr. Grossfeld is part of a small percentage of female orthopedic surgeons in the United States In order to encourage other women to join the field of orthopedic medicine, Dr. Grossfeld serves as a mentor to female medical students through the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery (AAOS). Dr. Grossfeld also enjoys serving the broader Louisville community by providing lectures about issues pertaining to orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. In January 2013 Dr. Grossfeld gave a keynote addressed about ACL injury at the “Making No Bones About It” lecture series offered by Baptist Hospital. She also serves as an orthopedic physician for area sporting events. Most recently Dr. Grossfeld served as an orthopedic physician for the UCI Cyclo-cross Elite World Championships 2013 in Louisville, Kentucky.
Career and Education
After completing high school in Drummond, Wisconsin, Dr. Grossfeld received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Chemistry from Indiana University Southeast. Dr. Grossfeld attended medical school at the University of Louisville’s School of Medicine and completed an internship in General Surgery and a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Minnesota Hospital and Clinics. Dr. Grossfeld also completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of Western Ontario, Fowler-Kennedy Sports Center, London, Ontario. She is board certified in both Part 1 and Part 2 of the American Boards of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Grossfeld has served as the team physician for many student athletes including college teams at the Indiana University Southeast and Spalding University, and high school teams at South Oldham High School and Presentation Academy. She is also the team orthopedic physician for the Louisville Ballet, Kentucky Karma Women’s Football Team, and the WWE Midwest Training Facility.
