About the Book
Day to Day Economics is a business book from the IIMA business books series which comes as a rookies guide to the Indian economy. It is written by Prof. Satish Y Deodhar to help a layman in understanding the economic jargon thrown at us in day to day life and help him/her make sense of the information overload during the budget season. The book explains daily topics such as but not limited to monetary supply, inflation, recession, boom and bust etc. in a very reader friendly way. This edition is printed in 2012 and therefore also contains a page or two on US subprime crisis. As with all IIMA Business Books, it comes illustrated with numerous Indian examples and case studies making this the ultimate rookies guide to the Indian economy.
About the Author
Satish Y. Deodhar teaches economics at the IIMA. He has not only worked on imperfectly competitive market structures, agricultural trade, WTO, and food quality issues, but also conducted consulting projects for Indian Bank; Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India; and the Economic Research Service of the United States Department of Agriculture. Currently, he chairs the one-year Postgraduate Programme in Management for Executives (PGPX).
