David Sidman

David Sidman (born February 5, 1979 in Brookline, Massachussetts) is an American-Israeli, english-speaking stand-up comedian.
Biography
Upon graduating from Brookline High School in 1996, David Sidman went to Israel to explore Judaism at the Aish Hatorah Yeshiva in Jerusalem. He decided to stay in Israel, and underwent the aliyah process of becoming an Israeli citizen. For three years, he served in the Israel Defense Forces' Unit Oketz. Oketz is a special-forces canine unit. David Sidman's dog Linda successfully uncovered many explosives during his service.
Upon leaving the army, Sidman relocated back to Brookline where he launched a dog-training company, Boston Canine. During his time in Brookline, Sidman first dabbled in comedy with Boston's Gold Bar TV.
In 2005, Sidman left Gold Bar and closed Boston Canine to move back to Jerusalem, where he still resides.
Career
As sports reporter for Gold Bar TV, Sidman lampooned professional athletes and die-hard Boston sports fans.
Sidman entered the Israeli stand-up comedy scene with performances at Jerusalem's Off The Wall Comedy Basement. His career has taken off since then, and he has performed at venues around Israel.
Sidman writes his own jokes, and his shows are marked with a lot of interaction with the audience. His material often deals with social observations, pop-culture and politics. He frequently works voice-humor and celebrity-impersonations into his sets.
Because Israel has a shortage of comedy clubs, Sidman often produces his own shows at bars and rock clubs around the country. He also typically recruits fellow comedians to perform with him. Comedians like Benji Lovitt and Dan Rothschild have performed at shows where Sidman is the headliner.
Personal life
In 2009, David Sidman married Avigal Orrelle.
