David Shamah () (born 22 May 1959) is an Israeli journalist, best known for being the technology writer for The Jerusalem Post newspaper. Early life Shamah was born in Brooklyn, New York to Marcy and Herbert Shamah, American Jews of Syrian decent. He was raised as an Orthodox Jew. Shamah attended the Yeshiva of Flatbush and later on went to Brooklyn College to learn social studies. Career After attending college, Shamah worked as a social worker and in 1982 came to Israel to work with troubled youth. He later returned to America to work for a computer college in Brooklyn. In 1993 he moved to Israel, where he worked for Palphot, an Israeli printing company. He later got a job in the computer department of The Jerusalem Post, and a few years later became a writer for it. Personal life In 1989, David married Olivia Froehlich and in 1993 they made aliyah.
