Arik Bender, born 1952 in Rishon Le Zion, is an Israeli journalist, and parliamentry reporter with the daily tabloid newspaper Maariv and the nrg Maariv news website. He graduated from Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He served in the Israel Defence Forces and fought on the Golan Heights during the Yom Kippur War.
Career as a journalist Bender began his path in journalism when he was studying International Relations, Political Science and History at Hebrew University, by editing the student newspaper Pi Ha'Aton ("Mouth of the Donkey"), and from there continued to the morning newspaper Davar at which he started working as the local reporter in Jerusalem. Later, he worked at the weekend supplement department Yediot Achronot and than moved to Maariv. Bender was also producer of the Galgalatz morning radio show "707".
Bender is married to Lea Liberman Bender and is father of two children.
