David Horsager (born January 1, 1975) is an American entrepreneur, author, and motivational speaker. Considered America's "Business Trust Expert", he writes and speaks on the bottom-line impact of trust in business. His book The Trust Edge: How Top Leaders Gain Faster Results, Deeper Relationships, and a Stronger Bottom Line was published in 2010. Biography David Horsager was born in Wadena County, Minnesota to parents Clarence and Mary Horsager. The youngest of five children, he grew up working on his family's kidney bean farm in Verndale, MN, where he learned the value of trust and character. He gave his first speech at 6 years old, and he had already received national recognition for his abilities by 1990, when at the age of 17, he won the Minnesota Communications Art Award which sent him on a trip to Israel. Upon graduating from Bethel University with a bachelor of arts in Communications in 1995, David was hired as the director of K-Life in Harrison, Arkansas. During this time, he was mentored by some of the world's top magical illusion teachers, in Branson, Missouri, who helped him hone his ability to engage audiences. Four years later, in 1999, he and his wife Lisa, started their first company - Special Delivery Productions. They spent the next couple of years traveling around the world producing and performing illusion shows, including a 54-shows-in-27-days stint in Japan in 2000. In 2003, the company morphed into Horsager Leadership Studio, and Dave began his graduate school research at his alma mater, Bethel University. In 2007, Horsager received the prestigious Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation from the National Speakers Association. That same year, he graduated at the top of his class with his Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership (MAOL). A year later, he accepted the MAOL program's offer to be an adjunct professor, and he became an for the City of Roseville, MN. In 2009, the National Speakers Association recognized him with the Next Level Award for his continued commitment to excellence. In 2009, David's book The Trust Edge was acquired by Summerside Press, and it was published in January 2011. The message and book's premise is that everything from relationships to financial systems is built on trust, and that the most trusted brands, leaders and organizations have an edge in the marketplace. He references the research of such entities as Richard Edelman's Trust Barometer and Watson Wyatt Worldwide, and it is contended that trust can be earned by focusing on building what he calls the "Eight Pillars of Trust": Clarity, Compassion, Character, Competency, Commitment, Connection, Contribution, and Consistency. Through his book and approximately 55 keynote speeches per year, along with other assessments and consulting resources, David and his team have the mission "to create trusted leaders and organizations" and vision for touching 100 million people in 10 years. He lives in Roseville, MN, with his wife Lisa and their four children, Vanessa, Isaiah, Maria Claire and Micah. Books *
