Parul R. Sheth is a prolific science writer. After completing an M.Sc. in organic chemistry from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, she obtained her doctorate in Biochemistry from Seth G.S.Medical College, Mumbai (Bombay). She completed her post-doctoral training in andrology at the University of Rome, Italy. She worked at the Institute for Research in Reproduction, Indian Council Of Medical Research before joining the editorial board of Science Today, a The Times of India publication.
Sheth has over one thousand articles in various newspapers and magazines to her credit. She has also contributed to many science programmes broadcast by the All India Radio, Mumbai. She has also contributed science and health articles to several educational and health websites. She has written seven books on popular science and health. Sheth is the recipient of the C.B.Sharma national award for science communicators, 2003.
At present Sheth is a freelance science, health and medical writer. She is also associated with Amrita Bharati, a publishing house under Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai as a health writer. She is on the panel of experts for National Institute of Science Communication and Information Resources (NISCAIR), New Delhi, for the years 2004-2006.
She is the Treasurer for the National Centre for Science Communicators.
