Daphne Jackson Medal and Prize

The Daphne Jackson Medal and Prize, established in 2016, is conferred by the Institute of Physics "for exceptional early career contributions to physics education and to widening participation within it". It commemorates Daphne Jackson, former vice president of the institute and Britain’s first female professor of physics. The silver medal is awarded together with £1000.
Medallists
*2018 Dr Jessica Wade, Imperial College London, for "acting as an internationally-recognised ambassador for STEM, enhancing engagement across a wide range of demographics, through sustained and stimulating community engagement and outreach." Wade's award received international press coverage.
