Natalia Karenka Parra Sierra

Natalia Parra (b. 1978) is a Colombian/New Zealand artist, based in both Bogotá and Wellington.
Natalia Parra graduated from Bogotá's Jorge Tadeo Lozano University with a degree in fine arts, and was a co-founder of the ImanArte Gallery in the centre of Bogotá.
Parra lived in New Zealand from 2002 to 2005, holding several solo and group exhibitions including curating an exhibition of Wellington-based Latin American artists at the newly opened Wellington Arts Centre, and participating in the inaugural CrossOver Exhibition. Natalia played an important role in the development of the profile of Latin American culture in New Zealand, especially in Wellington.
Parra returned to Colombia in 2005, and held another successful solo exhibition in Bogotá, entitled "Te Hokinga Mai" ( for "The Return Home"), the title of which acknowledged the support she received from the in New Zealand. She also worked as an art teacher in a social project in the south of Bogotá.
