Samir Kumar is a Singapore based Indian origin film producer. In 2015 he founded the Ashwatha tree Productions. Samir is from Sasaram and graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur with a degree in Mining Engineering. He then completed his post graduation from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. He is also chairman of Bihar Foundation, Singapore Chapter. Early life Samir Kumar is originally from Sasaram, a smal town in Bihar. He has spent most of his early days in Sasaram only. He has done his 12th from Shankar college, Sasaram. Early career Samir kumar started his banking career with ABN Amro in London in 2004. Awards and recognition * In 2001, he was awarded Chandrakala award for being best Mining Engineering student of India, he was awarded Institute Silver Medal by IIT Kharagpur * His movie Mithila Makhan got Best Maithili Film in the 63rd National Film Awards. |
