Born Daniel Damilola Agunbiade in the 1980’s, who uses the stage name Danagog in his music career, is a Nigerian Rapper and songwriter, he calls his style Spicy because its a blend of the hottest trends in Hip-Hop, he can also be described as a Rappatainer because he has an entertaining way of presenting reality with Rap music. He is best known for his energetic stage performances and his ability to carry any size or kind of crowd along, He is said to have impressive stage-craft. He has achieved many milestones in his music career, single handedly organising tours around Nigerian Universities promoting his first singles in 2007. Early life He was born in Ile-Ife, Osun State to Pastor Samuel Agunbiade and Hon. Olanike Omoworare (The First Female Deputy Speaker in Nigeria). He spent most of his early life in the United Kingdom but schooled in Nigeria. He was always expected to be a public and social figure due to his strong personality and sense of himour and his ability to interface seamlessly with different classes of people. Music career His songs are based on his life often with an hilarious delivery but with an underlying deep meaning which chronicles the struggles, joys and aspirations of a young African trying to achieve his dreams. He performs in Yoruba, English and Pidgin English. All his works are solely produced by Half-Lyf (Ikechukwu Osuwah) except some collabos. Early beginnings Danagog started his music career as far back as 2004 but his 1st mainstream single was released in 2007 titled Who’s Dat Guy, which had both Video and audio released in the same year, it earned critical acclaim and airplay especially in Lagos. This turned out to be the launching pad for his career. In 2008 he went on a self-sponsored promotional tour around universities in Nigeria, this revealed his abilities as a performer. He signed with Smack Entertainment in 2009 and released a Promo Cd with two fresh singles titled, Lobe and Follow U. He’s currently promoting his mixtape Lobe International - The Mixtape in preparation for the release of his long awaited and much anticipated album. The mixtape includes singles such as Skele, Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes, and Mercy Johnson which describes his attraction to a Nigerian actress (Mercy Johnson), this has caused a lot of buzz on the Nigerian Entertainment scene but so far both parties have not come out to confirm or deny the speculations. Influences Danagog grew up listening to several great acts who are now legends such as King Sunny Ade, RUN Dmc, Abba, Bobby Brown and P.Diddy. He never told his parents about his music but they kept hearing from people that really loved his music. He looks up to modern day acts such as T.I., Jay-Z, Bow-Wow and Lil Wayne.
