Dan Weku "Digolo", (born 4 June 1981) is former a professional rugby union player for RCACP,Paris, France. "Digolo" as known in the rugby circles is credited for his speed and strength which explains his implausible try scoring fashion. He is a natural left-winger but has occasionally played on the right wing and also as an outside center for his national team, Kenya. He started playing rugby while in a renown rugby enthusiasts high school(Kakamega High School).Weku was off his feet with a brilliant successful junior career where he represented Kenya Schools Select,Under-19 and Under-21 level. He carried forward that success in the senior ranks featuring strongly for his local club Impala(Kenya Cup Champions 2003) and Nondescript Rugby Club(Bamburi Super 4 rugby series).He also won acclaim on the international stage with his first Kenya call-up for the clash with Morocco at Casablanca in 2004. In 2007 he signed a contract with Cergy Pontoise Rugby that is after he had already left for the United States of America where he played both Sevens and XV rugby at Super League division for Potomac Athletics Rugby Club and Northern Virginia Rugby (NOVA) respectively. Personal life Dan was born in Nairobi in 1981, the son of Linet and J.O. Weku. He was raised in Nairobi and began playing rugby at the age of 15 at the urging of her mother.He is part of the class of 2000 at Kakamega High School in Western Kenya. Dan Weku is a younger brother to Job Weku who also represented his country in the XVs team for several years. His two younger brothers are well known in the entertainment world.Davis Weku owns an events management company in Kigali,Rwanda while his young brother Allan Weku is an actor. In April 2013, Dan married Rachel Hough (now Rachel Weku), whom he met while attending university in Nairobi. They are settling down to focus on careers and family life in the future. Career Weku graduated in 2006 from USIU-K.United States International University- Africa,with a degree in Marketing. He is the directors of Activent International Ltd and Goodson International Ltd which have Global interest in Agriculture,Forex trading,Engineering and Communications.
