Collateral Meridian Therapy

The Collateral Meridian Therapy (CMT) () is an acupressure technique based on a modified acupuncture theory for relieving various pain symptoms. CMT is typically performed by pressing a few pressure points with sticks with round heads or fingers. CMT was developed by Shan-Chi Ko, who has promoted it as a treatment for Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS). Ko and colleagues have authored a letter describing a single case in which a patient with CRPS responded to Collateral Median Therapy, and have also submitted a meeting abstract describing positive results in a group of 10 patients with CRPS.
