Stolle Milk which can be referred to as The Milk of Human Science, is a health related product based on improving the quality of standard milk. Stolle Milk increases the body's anti-inflammatory system, increased antibody function, and better overall athletic performance. SMBI (Stolle Milk Biologics, In c.) is one of the few companies that produce Stolle milk. Its inventors are Lee R. Beck, and Ralph J. Stolle, researchers who began exploring the wellness potential of milk in 1958. The have several patents for their products that are entitled "Anti-Inflammatory Factor, Method of Isolation, and Use" and "Immune Suppressive Product". These products are pretty popular in Malaysia and New Zealand.
Among the health benefits that can be imparted by SMBI milk products are: complementing of the body's anti-inflammatory response; promotion of improved antibody function; and enhancement of athletic performance.
Inflammation will often be triggered during injury or disease. If prolonged, inflammation can lead to structural and functional damage. As a self defense mechanism, the human body produces natural anti-inflammatory components by releasing chemical mediators. Stolle milk aids in the process by enhancing the body's natural response
As a way for the body to defend itself naturally against infectious diseases, antibodies are produced in the human body. Scientists discovered that animals could be stimulated to produce certain antibodies in their milk - such antibodies help to increase milk's tendency to contribute to wellbeing.
SMBI's extensive research studies in milk science have led to the development of antibodies that have a beneficial effect on the body's natural defense mechanisms.
<big>Scientific Studies</big>
This study was conducted independently by Hsiang-Tai Chou, MD, Division of Cardiology, China Medical College, Taichung, Taiwan, R.O.C., 1994, to evaluate the blood pressure-lowering effects and safety of Stolle milk blended with Stolle whey protein concentrate (S-200) in 30 patients with mild to moderate essential hypertension. The study consisted of a run-in phase of 2 weeks during which time all patients took control, nonfat dry milk powder, and a randomized-treatment phase of 12 weeks during which time 10 patients continued to take control milk and 20 patients took S-200 milk powder. The dosage was 32.5 g Stolle (S-200) or control milk powder twice daily. Blood pressure was monitored before and during treatment, and blood samples were collected for clinical laboratory evaluation.
In both treatment and control groups blood pressure decreased significantly during the 12-week treatment phase. The decrease in the S-200 group was statistically greater than in the control group and was clinically relevant.
Athletic Benefits:
Scientific studies exist that reveals evidence that milk reduces aches and pains in athletes and improves recovery alongside overall athletic performance. To test these results, SMBI conducted a double blind study with 18 marathon runners.
For 6 months, half the runners consumed SMBI milk products and the other half consumed "control" milk. At the conclusion of the 6-month study period, 70% of the runners who had consumed SMBI milk reported improvements in their athletic performance. Among the significant improvements reported were shorter recovery times (days between training or racing). Other benefits included a decrease in the percentage of body fat found in the group that had consumed SMBI milk.
Antibody Benefits:
As far back as the late 1800s, scientists discovered that animals could be stimulated to produce certain antibodies in their milk - and these antibodies help to improve milk's ability to contribute to wellness.
SMBI's extensive research studies in milk science have led to the development of antibodies that have a beneficial effect on the body's natural defense mechanisms.
Anti-Inflammatory Benefits:
The results of research studies published in independent peer journals clearly demonstrate that SMBI milk products help to relieve inflammation and help protect against structural and functional damage caused by acute and chronic inflammation. SMBI milk products have been scientifically proven to achieve these results by enhancing the body's natural response.
<big>Company History</big>
The SMBI story began in 1958 in Lebanon, Ohio. After studying the work of milk research pioneers Paul Ehrlich and William Petersen, a prominent Lebanon dairy farmer named Ralph Stolle developed an innovative method of enhancing the health benefits of milk.
When thinking of methods to improve the health and wellbeing of dairy cows, Mr. Stolle planned to change the methods and procedures for managing such changes. Hormones and antibiotics were absolutely forbidden and special treatments were developed to stimulate the cows' natural production of immune factors in the milk.Milk collected from the cows managed under the Stolle system was frozen fresh, given to subjects and proven to provide important human health benefits. Next, a process was developed to spray-dry the milk, creating powdered milk containing the same protective antibodies as its frozen counterpart.
Mr. Stolle then began a 28-year continuous survey of the health benefits of his powdered skimmed milk - discovering a vast assortment of wellness-promoting applications. He was issued several patents for his milk technology. In 1961, Mr. Stolle founded a major research company dedicated to enhancing the healthful benefits of milk.
Through the years, SMBI has received more than 250 patents worldwide.Properties that complement the body's anti-inflammatory response, enhance antibody function, assist in improving athletic performance, help reduce tenderness in joints, promote the lowering of blood pressure, and assist in reducing damage to lungs caused by airborne irritants are among the scientifically proven benefits associated with SMBI milk technologies.
Today, SMBI is an integral part of Spencer Trask Holdings. Spencer Trask has provided financial services to entrepreneurs and companies that have helped shape history - dating back to 1879 when Trask financed Thomas Edison's discovery of the light bulb. Other milestones include financing the start-up of General Electric. Recently, Spencer Trask founded The Immune Response Corporation, a biotech company devoted to finding a breakthrough treatment for HIV. Spencer Trask also provided the capital to launch Myriad Genetics, a company committed to discovering the breast cancer gene.
SMBI's advancements in milk-based technologies have been scientifically proven to enhance the health benefits of cow's milk.
