CivicSource was launched on May 19, 2010, hosting the first online tax sale for Archon Information Systems, which was founded in 2008. The New Orleans-based company is the leading online marketplace for auctioning and purchasing tax-distressed properties across Louisiana. They work with Archon Information Systems, a Delaware corporation that provides technology and collection services to government clients.
On September 4, 2013, CivicSource.com hosted the first online, market-driven adjudicated property sale for Caddo Parish. In January 2015, Archon became publically known as CivicSource, LLC. In July, CivicSource brought the complete adjudicated sale process in-house, where the Adjudications Department handles everything from pre-sale research to conducting closings. On July 1, 2015, CivicSource.com hosted the first adjudicated property sale for the City of New Orleans with guaranteed title insurance.
The CivicSource proprietary software suite consists of three primary components—CivicSource Administrator, CivicSource Auctioneer, and CivicSource Services—that consolidate every aspect of tax management, tax collection, or tax sale. The suite provides governments with the ability to search, view, and edit taxable properties and owners, provides for digital management of documents associated with the delinquent properties, and provides a platform for online disposition of tax liens, tax deeds, and adjudicated and foreclosed properties.
