David Wayne Turner Jr.

David Wayne Turner, Jr. (born June 5, 1972) is an American business founder, entrepreneur, product innovator, technical leader and inventor. He is the CEO of mobile technology company Parallel 6.
He founded the company in 2009 with a vision to bring an enterprise mobile engagement platform to the Internet of things through a mobile device, Google Glass, or other endpoints used to capture and engage with consumers. Parallel 6 is an enterprise mobile technology company and the inventors of Captive Reach.
Turner has over 20 years of executive, operations, and engineering experience managing small to mid size teams and businesses in the technology and services space. He has served in multiple capacities and executive leadership positions including the Board of Directors for technology and services companies both in the US and abroad. He primarily focuses on executive leadership, entrepreneurship, product innovation, packaging, pricing, and overall market direction in the enterprise software and enterprise services space.
Early life and education
Turner was born in New Jersey on June 5, 1972. Turner’s father, Dr. David W. Turner, was a PhD Chemical Engineer at Exxon Mobile Corporation and holds almost 100 patents in his name. His mother, Anita June Spires Turner, was an Inventor, CEO of Rymes ‘n’ Times, and former teacher. Seth Ryan Turner, his brother, is an auditor and business leader currently living in Dallas, TX.
Turner started his education in the Gifted and Talented Program at Bernard Terrace Elementary and then on to McKinley Middle Magnet Gifted and Talented Program. He spent most summers on a cottage on little Sebago Lake just outside of Portland, Maine. He then attended the Baton Rouge Magnet High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he competed in wrestling, track and soccer.
Growing up, Turner enjoyed and competed in tennis, golf and swim, winning both city and state titles in backstroke and breastsroke. Although Turner grew up in Louisiana, his family and roots are from Maine.
Turner received a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Louisiana State University. He attended from 1991-1996. He was an active member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and was an athlete of the Lacrosse Team and was recognized for his contributions as a top defender in the sport. Turner then attended the E. J. Ourso College of Business from 1996-1998, where he received a Master's degree in Information Systems and Decision Sciences.
Turner was both active and reserve in the United States Marine Corps from 1991 to 1999. While in the U.S. Marine Corps, Turner participated in joint task force efforts for counter drug operations in the mid-90s. Later in his military career, Turner used his technical skills working at headquarters connecting different systems and technology to military networks around the country. He then attended the Executive program, managing the IT Resources at University of California, Los Angeles in 2001. From 2003 to 2010, Turner was involved in the Aji Network-LEIP Program for professional education.
Career
Since November 2009, he has been president and CTO of Parallel 6. Parallel 6 is an enterprise mobile technology company and the inventors of Captive Reach. Captive Reach is an enterprise mobile engagement platform that integrates into mobile, glass, and other devices supporting all aspects of the IOT initiatives. Parallel 6 deploys their technology and integrates strategies designed to help clients improve business results in a multi-channel world. Their product focus is on Health Care / Life Sciences, Federal Government, and general retail based verticals.
Since mid 2014, Turner holds the role of President and CTO, Founder of Parallel 6. Turner founded the company in 2009 with a vision to bring an enterprise mobile engagement platform to the Internet of things through a mobile device, Google Glass, or other endpoints used to capture and engage with consumers. Turner focused Parallel 6 efforts in the commercial, government, and other regulated verticals. An extension of the vision is shaping the technology towards solving real world problems in clinical trials. This has resulted in an important pivot point for the business, focusing the Captive Reach technology platform towards solving patient retention issues in clinical trials. The new product is Clinical Reach.
Previously from 2009 to through most of 2014, Turner was the CEO and President of Parallel 6 and was responsible for inventing product, capitalization of the business, revenue growth, and all other aspects of the business taking Parallel 6 to a multi office, multi-million dollar configuration and organization in just over 2 years.
From February 2008-June 2009, he was VP of Technical Operations at 2.2 MobiTV, a global leader in delivering live and on-demand video to any screen, connecting media reliably and securely anytime, anywhere, on any device. The company’s end-to-end platform delivers a true TV everywhere experience that helps service providers reduce time to market and control costs associated with the deployment and operation of high concurrency, multiple platform services. MobiTV’s connected media solutions to solve the complexity of delivering video across networks, operating systems and devices while managing associated rights.
From February 2003-February 2008, he was VP of SaaS Operations at DemandTec Inc. DemandTec offers a network of cloud apps and insights for more than 500 retailers and consumer products companies, providing common solutions to transact, interact, and collaborate on core merchandising and marketing activities.
From March 2000-February 2003, Turner was VP of Technical Operations at Liberate Technologies. Liberate Technologies produces he worlds leading interactive TV Platform software. Turner increased responsibilities over 3+ years. In September 2002, he was promoted to the Vice President of Operations with responsibilities for Engineering Services, Release Engineering, Systems Integration Engineering, Information Technology, Facilities, and Customer Support.
From 1999-2000, he was Sr. Consultant Information Risk Management at KPMG LLP, a U.S. audit, tax and advisory services firm, operates from 87 offices with more than 23,000 employees and partners throughout the U.S. With the purpose to turn knowledge into value for the benefit of their clients, their people, and their capital markets. Turner specialized in Information Security Audits, Online Banking Audits, Type II SAS70s.
Turner developed a complex algorithm that modeled probabilities of target pricing for newly IPO’d companies in the US and China marketplace. Over the course of the following 2 years, returns exceeded 700%.
He was an advisor and investor to LiquidTalk Networks, an early technology start-up which uses IPods for video distribution of Pharmaceutical and drug content, from February 2006-August 2008. Turner worked with LiquidTalk Networks in an advisory role to assist with software development, QA, offshore strategy, operations strategy, cost model, and SaaS contracts.
He was a Board Member at Sofcoast Inc. from January 2008- December 2010. Sofcoast (a Hub Zone based SDVOSB) delivers expeditionary enterprise solutions to front-line users in commercial and public safety markets. Sofcoast's mission is to design, build and deliver easy to use solutions that enable people worldwide to connect and share high value information.
Turner was the Executive In Residence, Board Member and Co-Founder for Sofcoast. Advisory services and Leadership to the Executive Team at Sofcoast Inc. Technical and business advisor for product development, business development and operations.
