Chaudhary Ravindra Singh

Chaudhary Ravindra Singh was the first Pradhan of the village Lachhera and the first Sarpanch of 11 villages including Lachhera. He died on 2 May 2013.
Early life
Chaudhary Ravindra Singh was the son of the biggest landlord of the village Lachhera , Babu Sumer Singh. He completed his education from Muzaffarnagar where Shri Virendra Verma was his classmate and roommate in the hostel. After completing his education, he got appointed as the Jury Member in Muzaffarnagar Court during British rule and was later on appointed as "Bhatta Inspector" in Muzaffarnagar.
Political achievements
Chaudhary Ravindra Singh or Chaudhary Sahab as he was fondly called by the people, played a key role in the upliftment of the downtrodden and was a staunch supporter of education of children and Women rights. He was a philanthropist who always came forward to help those in need.
With this motto of serving people of the area, he contested in the first election in the state of Uttar Pradesh held for the post of Sarpanch of 11 villages including his native village, Lachhera and emerged as victorious and in the fourth year of his tenure, contested in the election for the post of Pradhan of the village Lachhera and won the election.
People from all the caste groups and all the religions had high regard for Chaudhary sahab.
The main works that he undertook during his tenure as the Sarpanch and Pradhan are :
* Allotments of lands to landless poor. He allotted the lands to the poor and proper orders were implemented so that the lands may be registered in their names.
* He also did a great lot of work in the field of education of children and played a key role in the building of Janta Inter J.H. School in Lachhera.
Family
Two of his children namely Dr. Yogendra Singh and Dr. Ved Prabha Malik are doctors. His daughter Mrs. Chandra Prabha worked as Principal in Delhi. His son Ch. Yash Pal Singh is an Ex- IAF officer who is currently President of Purv Sainik Sangathan, Muzaffarnagar.
A total of 5 grandchildren of Chaudhary Sahab are doctors and 2 grandchildren are serving in Central Government departments as Inspector in Central Excise department and as Section officer in Central Secretariat.
Many of his family members are settled in different countries like America, Canada, Singapore etc.
Chaudhary Sahab died on 2 May 2013.
