Celestial Semiconductor

Celestial Semiconductor, Inc. is a Beijing, China-based fabless semiconductor company which provides System-On-Chip (SOC) solutions mainly for set-top boxes used on televisions.
History
The company was founded in late 2004 in Silicon Valley, California. It has offices in Beijing and Shenzhen, all in China. In January 2011, the firm was purchased by Mountain View-based Cavium Networks in a $55 million transaction.
Cavium Networks, the purchaser, is another fabless semiconductor company headquartered in Mountain View, California and with design teams also in Massachusetts, India, China and Taiwan.
Products
Celestial Semiconductor's ARM-based chipsets are used on two out of the three different set-top boxes used in the deployment of digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) in Argentina, using the ISDB-Tb standard.
