Cal Simmons

Cal Simmons is the founder of Five Star Alliance, Luxury Hotelist, and Travel Onion. Simmons is currently head of the first D.C. chapter of TIGER 21, a club for angel investors, and serves as an Advisor of Revinate, Inc.
Early life and education
Simmons began his schooling in Journalism School at Kansas University. He was recruited as a tennis player, playing 1st singles and doubles throughout his career. He quickly realized he wanted to be an entrepreneur and not a journalist. To date, Simmons has created about a dozen companies, and has invested in about 50.
His first job out of school was delivering the Evening Star. Simmons facilitates two Washington, D.C. groups for Tiger 21, a learning company for high net worth individuals.
Simmons began his entrepreneurial career by founding Cal Simmons travel in 1976.
In 2004, Simmons Co-founded Five Star Alliance (FSA), an online travel agency for luxury hotels, and served as its Chairman & Partner. which was published by Random House.<ref name=":1" />
The next year, Simmons published his first online travel guide, The Informed Traveler.<ref name=":1" />
