Brijesh Singh is an Indian Police Service officer. He serves as the Additional Director General for Police in Mumbai City. Formerly he was Secretary & Director General, Information & Public Relations and Special Inspector General of Police, Government of Maharashtra. He has led the implementation of MH Cyber Project, CERT MH and Predictive Policing units. Brijesh Singh is a 1996-batch IPS officer with outstanding academic credentials. He is BE (Mining), MA (Psychology), MA (PublicAdministration), Diploma in Computer Forensics, PGD (Foreign Trade). Career As Secretary-and-DG of information & Public-Relation Directorate, he has led modernisation projects like Media and Social-Media Analysis Centre and state of-the-art recording studio. As IG CID, he implemented the prestigious Crime and Criminal Tracking System for Maharashtra police connecting all of its 1100 police stations to a state of the art technology platform. As Nodal-Officer of CCTNS project, his team digitized legacy data of 1.42-crores documents & also led capacity-building initiative by training one lakh police personnel for which Government e-Excellence Award was awarded to SCRB, CID, Pune by DIT GoM. As Additional CP (Traffic), he led technology up-gradation, supervised VIP/ VVIP security & traffic arrangements while streamlining daily traffic of Mumbai. Achievements He has successfully led Maharashtra Cyber Security Project and combating cybercrimes unit in Maharashtra through Predictive-Policing, cutting-edge Cyber Forensics tools, MH-CERT and Centre-of-Excellence. Under his leadership, 48 state-of-the-art District-Cyber-Labs have been setup and his efforts made Maharashtra first state in the country to sanction 43 cyber police stations. He has led cyber capacity building and public awareness projects, involving more than a lakh people. Awards Maharashtra Cyber Digital Crime Unit (MCDCU), a government-industry anti-piracy collaboration led by him, has successfully taken down more than 400 pirate-websites and issued critical advisories. MCDCU and AMBIS have been awarded with several national and international honours and their contributions been recognised by international organisations such as World Intellectual Property Organization. Books He is also a renowned Author and a tech thought leader. He writes in newspapers and appears on media on cybersecurity related issues. He has penned a thriller "Quantum Siege" for Penguin books. His recent book “Dangerous Minds of India” has been well received.
