Beetroot Design Group

Beetroot Design Group is a multi-award winning design studio based in Thessaloniki, Greece.
It is internationally renowned for its multidisciplinary approach, as well as being the winner of many, major international communication design awards.
History
Beetroot was founded in 2000 in Thessaloniki by Vagelis Liakos, Alexis Nikou and Yiannis Charalambopoulos. It is involved with projects in all kinds of media where graphic design can be applied (print, branding and new media such as a web, video, TV as well as installations and exhibitions)
Their name comes from the Jitterbug Perfume, a novel penned by Tom Robbins.
Projects and clientele
Beetroot has designed various high profile branding projects and campaigns in Greece and internationally. Clients include cultural institutions such as the Benaki Museum, the Onassis Cultural Centre and the Thessaloniki Museum of Photography, as well as multinational corporations such as Lidl, Microsoft, Corbis and Nestlé.
In 2013 they designed the visual identity for the Greek Presidency of the Council of the European Union
Awards
The Greek studio has won distinctions in all major international award schemes, including D&AD, Epica, Pentawards, Dieline, Red Dot and European Design Awards.
Beetroot's first award came as early as 2002, when they received a distinction at the inaugural edition of the "EBGE" Greek Design Awards. In 2006 they won the title of "Greek Design Studio of the year", a title that has been bestowed upon them again in 2008, 2010 and 2012 becoming the record holders of the specific award scheme as far as number of awards won.
The next important accolade for Beetroot came in 2008 when they won the title of "European Design Agency of the year". Again, Beetroot studio which holds the record of most distinctions in this competition.
A third big title, came in 2011, when Beetroot became the "Red Dot agency of the year"
Their consistent success has made it possible to become one of the selected few members of the Design Leaders club.
