William R. Drury

William (Buzz) Drury is the President and a founding partner of Architecture, Incorporated, a design firm based out of the
Washington Metropolitan Area, in Reston, Virginia. Drury has led several notable hospitality, higher education and commercial projects. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, he has resided in the Northern Virginia area for over 30 years. He has been lead designer for over $900 million of development and renovation work. Drury has been an advocate for the use of design to positively change the Washington region's communities.
As a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited professional, he has worked to incorporate new environmental standards in all of Architecture, Inc's designs. Several of his passive solar designed houses can be found throughout the Lake Thoreau and Lake Audubon neighborhoods in Reston, Virginia. Drury holds a U.S. patent for a structural system and is an active member of the American Institute of Architects registered in 15 states, and a NCARB Member.
Design Awards & Notable works
Drury's work has been recognized and received several design awards including the Design Excellence Award- Fairfax county, Design Excellence Award- Arlington county, The International Interior Design Association -Bronze Award, and NAIOP design awards - Best Public Space, Best Institutional Building, Best Commercial Interior.
Most notable projects include the renovation and addition of Marcel Breuer's American Press Institute Headquarters, The annex to the Washington Navy Museum (historical significance), The Kettler Capitals Iceplex & NHL Washington Capitals Training Center, Historic Lake Anne Center revitalization master plan. "Architect of record" for the Salamander Resort and Spa in Middleburg, Virginia and the Donovan House in Washington, D.C.
