BBC Gossip Column

The Gossip Column is the most popular piece of regular content on the entire BBC website, generating an average of more than 1 million page impressions per day. It is a daily round-up the best transfer speculation from a range of national newspapers. It was conceived and created by BBC Sport journalist Simon Austin in 2001. The name "Gossip Column" was the idea of Austin's colleague, Stuart Roach. Links to newspaper web pages were added in 2007. "Other gossip and "And Finally" were added in the same year. The Gossip Column is almost always the most popular daily story on the BBC Sport website. |
