Europe Today Project

Europe Today Project is a project aimed at establishing a pan-European daily newspaper, Europe Today. Currently, the project hosts a website that collects up-to-date news from several international news agencies to display a European perspective on world affairs. The website distinguishes between ‘Europe’ and ‘Abroad’ in its news feed.

The fundamental idea resides in the notion that Europe needs a daily newspaper with a European perspective. Since Europeans share issues that transcend current national borders, they ought to have a shared platform to debate and discuss such issues, a platform that stands independent from institutional influence.

Europe Today Project is not to be confused with websites and organisations focused primarily on delivering information regarding the workings of the European Union. To the contrary, the project is an independent undertaking with the ambition to provide a multifaceted news agenda, covering all areas of concern to the average European. It is a project with the ultimate ambition to establish a daily newspaper that covers the entire European community.

According to the 'About'-page on the website the project was founded by Christofer Berg and Johan Malmsten after the idea was born in a park in Paris in the autumn of 2006. Christofer Berg is currently studying at Cambridge University and Johan Malmsten is studying at the London School of Economics.
