Bastian Emig

Bastian Emig (born March 04, 1980 in Heidelberg, Germany), is a German singer, songwriter, composer, pianist and drummer who grew up in Burkina Faso, Africa until the age of six years. As of now, he is the singer and pianist of the piano rock band In Legend and the drummer of Van Canto.
Previous Bands
Growing up, Emig played the drums in the Bingen-based heavy metal band Jester's Funeral and the surf rock band The Razorblades. In both of these bands he played alongside Stefan Schmidt (who later brought Van Canto to life), and Daniel Wicke who would later join In Legend as bassist. Emig also spent a year in China from 2006 to 2007 and played drums in the death metal band Narakam. He was also a member of the Toning Drumcircle, which gave him the opportunity to perform as part of the biggest entertainment show of the Chinese state television on New Year's Eve in front of approximately 800 million Chinese people at the famous Beijing Drum Tower.
Other Musical Activities
Aside from his active musical career, Emig currently resides in Berlin and is also a sound designer for several radio plays and movie productions and he filled in as a live drummer for the power metal band Orden Ogan in spring 2011.
