Placing 3rd in that event, Press was asked to open for touring singer/songwriter Ellis Paul. Shortly afterwards, Press became the youngest artists ever to be invited to perform in the Singer/Songwriter Sessions at the iconic NYC performance space The Bitter End. She was later nominated for a Ron Kovic Peace Prize for her song and video. In the spring of 2012, Avalon Magazine featured Press in a four page interview. Writer and Rock photographer Rebekah Blu wrote the interview and said, "Although I am too young to have experienced hearing live the electrifying wails of Jimi Hendrix's guitar, the soulful sounds of Bob Marley on stage or the brilliant weaving of story into song by Joni Mitchell, each of these artists had a profound effect on me when I first heard them. I like to think of those experiences as 'What was that?' moments. My first experiences of Schuyler Iona Press singing was one of those moments. What impresses me most about Skye, aside from being a budding and extraordinary talent, is a level of consciousness that is not only evident in her lyrics but also in how she conducts herself in everyday life." C.C Long of the Pawling Press wrote after seeing Press on stage, "Schuyler Press is a diminutive dynamo that sounded like she could be the new coming of folk music in the manner of Joan Baez." Acting Her film credits include the award winning short film A Driving Lesson. What I'm Failing to Learn Press is currently working on new project, the multimedia "theatrical concert" What I'm Failing to Learn set to open a workshop run in NYC May 2013. What I'm Failing to Learn will feature all original music by Press supported by a full band, Irish hard shoe dancers and video.
