Bärí A. Williams is an attorney, startup advisor, and published author. In March 2020, Williams released her first book from Rockridge Press entitled Diversity in the Workplace, which includes interviews from prominent tech leaders on identity, privilege, and bias. Career Williams was appointed by the Governor of California to serve on the California African American Museum's State Board of Directors. She is also the former Head of Business Operations Management for North America at StubHub, where she was responsible for business planning and operations. She also serves as an advisor to startups in the enterprise and e-commerce space. Prior to StubHub, she was a senior commercial attorney at Facebook supporting internet.org connectivity efforts, building drones, satellites, and lasers, and supporting the company's supply chain. In October 2016, Williams also created and implemented Facebook’s Supplier Diversity Program, which ensured the company's goods and services were being purchased from vendors with varied backgrounds and minority-owned small businesses. Prior to joining Facebook, Williams was an attorney at CSAA Insurance Exchange, formerly known as AAA Insurance, where her work focused on commercial contracts, primarily in the IT space, and privacy. Education Williams is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley (BA, Mass Communications), St. Mary’s College of California (MBA), the University of California, Los Angeles (MA, African-American Studies), and received her J.D. degree from the University of California, Hastings College of Law in 2008.
