Isa Infante

Isa Infante (born September 8, 1942), is a 2014 Green Party candidate on the ballot for Tennessee Governor during the United States gubernatorial elections, 2014 She currently lives in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Education
Isa Infante received her J.D. from the Northeastern University School of Law in Boston in 2006. Prior to that, she received her Ph.D. In Political Science in 1977 from the University of California at Riverside, and her M.A. in Political Science at Yale University in 1975. She received her B.A. in Politics/Latin American Studies at the University of California in Santa Cruz in 1973.
Legal, Political and Academic Experience
Isa Infante is currently the Coordinating Chair of the Green Party of Knox County and President of the Yale Club of Tennessee.
She is a former Democrat, and at the White House, she was a part of the Interdepartmental Task Force on Women, a program under former President Jimmy Carter. She ran against Bill Haslam in 2007 for the Mayor position in Knoxville, Tennessee on the principle that he shouldn't run uncontested. Only 8% of registered voters voted in that election, and Bill Haslam won.
She worked with the Women's Bar Foundation of Massachusetts on the Domestic Violence Advocacy Project, and was on the Advisory Council for the Women's Studies Program at Northeastern University. While in Massachusetts getting her law degree, she worked for the Dorchester District Court as a legal advocate in the Domestic Violence Clinic, and worked as a patient legal advocate at the Massachusetts General Hospital Emergency Room Domestic Violence Clinic,
In Los Angeles, California, Isa Infante worked with the National Lawyer's Guild as a Director on the group's Immigration Projection. In San Francisco, California, she was a Consultant to the Boricua Legal Assistance Center.
She also worked as the Director of the Latin American Studies Program at Jersey City State College, in Jersey City, New Jersey. In Manhattan, New York, Isa Infante was an Academic Dean of Empire State College, and an Adjunct Instructor at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, a senior college of The City University of New York.
Isa Infante has also worked as a consultant for nationally and internationally recognized legal, academic and political organizations, has been a small business owner and was CEO for a chain of retail stores.
