Barack Obama Charter School, opened in 2009 in Compton, California. A second school, Ingenium Charter School opened up in Canoga Park, CA in 2010.

After School Program
Big Up Kidz is an after school enrichment program that instills BOCS classroom curriculum, healthy snacks, P.E. and an hour of tutoring.
Admissions
Students are enrolled by lottery. Barack Obama uses no selective criteria or entrance exams.
Student (Academic) Performance
Barack Obama Charter School uses the Reinventing Schools Coalition Model (RSM) curriculum as the foundation of its high quaility instructional program. RSM is a standards-based program that focuses on student independence and accountability. At BOCS, students set goals, track their learning, and analyze data.
School Uniforms
Students wear uniforms that are maroon collard polo shirt with the Barack Obama Charter School logo on the left side and wear khaki twill pants. Only sixth graders are allowed to wear blue jeans.
