Alka Tiwari

Alka Tiwari (born 6 September 1965) is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1988 batch from the Jharkhand cadre. She currently serves as the Chief Secretary of Jharkhand. Tiwari has held various significant positions throughout her career in state and central government.
Education
Tiwari holds a postgraduate degree in Psychology from Meerut University and a Master of Science degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from the University of Manchester. She was top of her class at both institutions. Tiwari is also a graduate in Law from Ranchi University and completed short-term courses at Harvard University and Duke University., Additional Secretary & Joint Secretary in the Department of Fertilizers, Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals, and Secretary at the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes.
Se was appointed as the Chief Secretary of Jharkhand in November 2024.<ref name=":TOI" />
Personal Life
Tiwari is married to Devendra Kumar Tiwari, a retired IAS officer who previously served as Chief Secretary of Jharkhand and currently holds the constitutional post of State Election Commissioner of Jharkhand.<ref name=":Pioneer" />
