Alejandro Franco

Alejandro Franco Fernandez is a music journalist in Mexico. He has created his career over the past ten years in radio, TV and written media. He has interviewed several iconic music’s characters like Robert Smith (The Cure), Brian Wilson (The Beach Boys), Peter Hook (Joy Division / New Order), John Taylor (Duran Duran), Andy Fletcher (Depeche Mode), Ry Cooder (Buena Vista Social Club), Gustavo Cerati (Soda Stereo), Café Tacvba, among others, including new internationational talent’s like Kanye West, Franz Ferdinand, Goldfrapp, Ian Brown and many others.
The communicator born in Mexico City in 1979 has collaborated with some of the most important media in Mexico and Latin America such as W Radio, WFM, W Radical, Tele Hit, Televisa's specialized TV shows, Rolling Stone magazine, GQ magazine and other independent media.
Alejandro Franco has covered major music events throughout the world like Love Paradein Berlin[, Coachella Festival in the U.S.A., Festival Personal in Argentina, Heineken Thirst in South Africa, Glastonbury Festival in England and dozens of more concerts.
He hosts the radio show "El Tlacuache" broadcasted nation wide Monday to Thursdays from 8 to 11 at night on Mexican radio network Los 40 Principales. He is founder and CEO of the online information site warp.com.mx, the first and only music site in spanish that generates content, exclusive news and it’s updated 24 hours a day. As part of this project, he is currently presenting the third season of the entertainment project, Frecuencia, a weekly podcast that can be downloaded at WARP and iTunes. He is also founder and CEO of WARPmagazine, leading music magazine in the Mexican market with major national distribution and a small distribution in America and Latin America. He is the creator, producer and host of live music TV show “Sesiones con Alejandro Franco” that began broadcasting in 2007 on Telehit, viewed in all of Latin America and Spain and in Vme in the United States. In 2009 the third season is broadcasted through Sony Entertainment Televisionand Animax Latin America.
He is currently directing and producing a documentary of Glastonbury Festival England 2009. SLKTR (Selektor) is the name of his musical project with Juan Chavez and Charal from the famous Mexican group Resorte, a live mashups band that mix together international rock, hip hop, electro and Mexican music in a powerful and brilliant way on stage. When Alejandro is alone, his musical selection is very welcomed under the name SLKTR DIYEI set.
