Aksel Stasny

Aksel Stasny is an Austrian photographer and film director. Aksel currently resides in New York City and is part of Bayard Studios, a photo and film production house based in Brooklyn, NY.
Biography
At the age of nineteen he started his career as an assistant photographer for advertisement companies in Vienna, becoming an independent photographer and filmmaker. During this time Aksel exhibited his photo series, studied drama at the University of Vienna and joined an acting group at an improvisation theater.
Influenced by the practice of acting Aksel refocused on directing and moved to New York to attend the New York Film Academy, from which he graduated in 2009. He became a private student of director Vojtech Jasny and joined the production company Bayard Studios based in Brooklyn, NY. His American short film debut Coming Home. was premiered at the 2010 Montreal World Film Festival.
Aksel is currently working as a film director on full-length documentary and narrative feature film projects and as a photographer holding exhibitions of his art projects through galleries in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
