Aimee Challenor

Aimee Challenor (born 1997, Coventry) is a British Green Party politician who stood in the Coventry City Council Elections in May 2016. She is the Green Party's Equalities (LGBTIQ) Spokesperson and the Chair of the Green Party's LGBTIQ Group

Political career
In September 2015 she was elected as the Chair of the Green Party of England and Wales LGBTIQ Group. Notably this meant that the group had elected a transgender person to the position of chair for the first time. In February 2016 she stood in the Lower Stoke By-Election in Coventry, coming second-to-last. In the same time, she was announced as the Equalities (LGBTIQ) Spokesperson for the Green Party, which made her the first Openly Transgender spokesperson for a Political Party with an MP in the Houses of Parliament.
Personal life
Born in October 1997 to David and Tina Challenor, Aimee grew up in Coventry. She attended Lewis Charlton School in Ashby-de-la-Zouch
Between leaving her Secondary School and attending Henley College Coventry she came out as Transgender. Whilst at her College she raised multiple issues within the College. It is during her time at College that she became involved in Politics.
Challenor also sits on the Trans Advisory Group panel of the UK LGBT Charity Stonewall and is listed on the Charity Commission website as being a trustee of Coventry Pride.
