History

From 1991 to 2001, Veracity Systems, operating as The Computer Terminal held service agreements for many of Australia's largest technology companies. These included WANG, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Dell, Ansett, and Qantas. The service portion of the business was sold in 2001 with Veracity concentrating on developing software applications. In 2003, Veracity Systems published their Workman application which established them as a serious contended in the CMMS application software market. A registered Trade Mark certificate was awarded on the 2nd June 2004. In 2005, Veracity published Touch Till, a Point of Sale (POS) application specifically written to make use of the emerging trend towards touch screen terminals in the retail industry.
Notable works
Veracity Systems is best known for its WORKman software application. There are a number of derivative works including CRANEman, COACHman and DOORman - all providing an industry specific solution to a universal issue. Touch Till is a point-of-sale application that provides a large list of functionality to a broad range of retail industries.
While Workman has been the company's flagship product, it is expected that Touch Till will soon take this position.
Works
WORKman
WORKman was an in-house job control and task management application written for Veracity Systems' sister company The Computer Terminal. After selling The Computer Terminal in 2001, Mr. Chimes read an article by Roger D. Evans in Maintenance World that prompted the re-development and released to market of a new WORKman in 2004. Derivative works based on WORKman include DOORman, CRANEman and COACHman; each addressing specific issues or procedures found in their related industries.
Touch Till
Veracity Systems was invited to develop a Point-of-Sale (POS) system in 2003. Customer response after release to market was favorable and Touch Till was the generic product release that resulted. Touch Till was developed specifically with the newly emerging touch screen technologies in mind and modules were provided for retail, wholesale, hospitality, and service industries.
Originally sold via Casio Australia's top dealer , Veracity recently made the decision to market Touch Till directly to the channel. While Workman has been the company's flagship product, it is expected that Touch Till will soon take this position.
Multi-Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI)
Multi-Peril Crop Insurance is an application written for the Queensland office of the Australian Government's Department Of Primary Industries to assist insurance underwriters to calculate probability and liability of crop damage from a range of natural perils. Prior to its release, there was no Australian-produced application that could provide assistance with this issue. the development of MCPI allowed the insurance industry to accurately compute their prospective risk and adjust premiums accordingly, thus providing a cheaper product to the growers.
Peanut Moisture Probe
In consultation with the DPI's Kingaroy Bjelke-Petersen Research Station , Veracity Systems developed a peanut moisture probe that accurately measures the amount of moisture in a peanut sample. Trials were successfully able to consistently measure the moisture percentage in samples of peanuts while still held within the kernel. Research has now moved to the industry development phase with the hope that on-farm portable testing will be available to growers.
Activity Roll
Activity Roll produces student class rolls for rotating subject lessons and provides teachers with a reduced administration workload. Developed in consultation with Queensland Education Departments' Mt Lofty State High School Wilsonton Campus, Activity Roll provides students with subject options that change as maximum class sizes are reached. Teachers were also provided with lists of students who had not enrolled in any or mandatory subjects.
