Sage Handisoft is a supplier of professional practice management, client accounting and taxation software to Australian accountants and taxation agents.

Sage HandiSoft is used in more than 6,400 practices across Australia.

Sage HandiSoft’s integrated suite is suitable for practices, from sole practitioners to those with 60+ staff.

Sage HandiSoft fits under the Sage Software Australia umbrella. Sage supplies accounting, Customer relationship management, payroll and people management, tax and practice management software to small, medium and large businesses.

Sage HandiSoft is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Sage Group plc, an international company specialising in accounting, payroll and CRM software applications. With operations throughout the UK, Europe, North America, Australia, Asia and South Africa, the Sage Group has an installed customer base of over 5.8 million small and medium sized businesses around the globe.

History

HandiSoft Software Pty Ltd was established during 1988 to develop business solutions for Australian public accounting practices.

In 2000, Softline Limited, listed at the time on the Johannesburg stock exchange, acquired HandiSoft.

In 2003, Softline was in turn acquired by Sage Group PLC.

Executive team

Alan Osrin is the Managing Director of Sage Software Australia Pty Ltd, as well as Managing Director of HandiSoft Software Australia Pty Ltd.

Alan began his career by co-founding Softline Ltd in 1988 with Ivan Epstein (CEO Sage - Southern Hemisphere) and Steven Cohen.

Softline was established during the formative years of the software industry and listed on the JSE Securities Exchange in South Africa in February 1997. Softline expanded to become a global player with a leading position in South Africa and Australia providing accounting, payroll and CRM software solutions for small, medium and large sized companies.

Alan moved to Australia in 1999 to manage Softline’s Australian operations. Subsequent to his move to Australia the business of MicrOpay was acquired.

In 2003 Softline was sold to Sage and Alan Osrin took the role of Managing Director of Sage Australia.

HandiSoft’s R&D Director is Anthony Cottis and the development director is James Knight.

Operations

Sage HandiSoft has its headquarters in Perth and branch offices in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.
