The '''Southern Miss–UAB football rivalry''' is an annual [[college football]] [[rivalry game]] between the [[University of Alabama at Birmingham]] (UAB) [[UAB Blazers football|Blazers]] and the [[University of Southern Mississippi]] [[Southern Miss Golden Eagles football|Golden Eagles]]. The current winner is Southern Miss, who won, 62–27, on November 20, 2013. ==History==
Southern Miss won the first game of the series, 33–30, in double overtime on November 11, 2000. UAB and Southern Miss have been [[Conference USA]] foes since 1999. Conference USA started football play in 1996 where Southern Miss completed along with six other teams. UAB started their football play in Conference USA in 1999 after completing as an [[NCAA Division I FBS independent schools|NCAA Division I-A independent]] for several years.
[[2011 UAB Blazers football team|In 2011]], the UAB Blazers upsets the #20 Southern Miss, 34–31, a 38-yard field added the victory for UAB.
