Siobhán Eirlys
Siobhán Anne Eirlys (born May 11), better known as Siobhán Eirlys, is an Australian Television Presenter, Model, Actor and Television Producer.
Early Life
Eirlys was born in Sydney, Australia as Siobhán Eirlys Davis. As a young child she traveled frequently, however the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney has always been considered her home town. As a teenager she attended various secondary colleges in Australia, although when she was 13 she was accepted as an academic to study abroad in the United States where she was educated at Thornton High School in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. While in the United States, Eirlys was a State champion high school Varsity cheerleader and a member of the Denver Performing Arts Complex where she frequently performed in musicals, plays and stage productions. Upon returning to Australia she continued to study performance at National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), Actors Centre Australia (ACA), Screenwise and various others.
Career
Modeling
Although Eirlys refuses to consider herself a model she has worked as a beauty, commercial and glamour model since she was a child. Her first modeling job was as an infant with Bambini Children's Clothing which then lend on to her receiving work with various other department stores. As a teenager and young adult she won a variety of modeling competitions in both Australia and abroad, often entering the competitions because of friend support. Eirlys is currently the face of One55 gym in the Western Suburbs of Sydney and is often seen in the pages of magazines such as FHM, Zoo Weekly. Eirlys is often seen in the social pages of the Sydney Morning Herald, Sunday Telegraph and other Australian Newspapers as a VIP party guest. Eirlys often to works as a Brand Ambassador also.
Television Presenting
After acting college Eirlys attended ACA and NIDA to train in Television presenting. From her studies Siobhán was offered work with Telstra as a roving presenter to cover their sponsorship activations where she was dubbed the 'Telstra Girl'. She also worked in corporate presenting for companies such as NRMA Roads and Motoring services and the Westfield Group.
In 2008, Eirlys was employed by UnseenTV as a presenter on the Events and Red Carpet show where she interviewed celebrity guests on the Australian Red Carpet and Awards ceremonies. After a few months of employment she started and began hosting, producing and managing Australia's first Gay and Lesbian television program 'Inside Out'. As the Television host she has interviewed various LBGT celebrities, associations, businesses and representatives. She is also the producer of the program.
In November 2009, Siobhán was the host of the Australian leg of MJ Dj competition where she was broadcasted to an international audience.
Acting
Since a very young age Siobhán has been seen on Australian televisions and films. Her first television appearance was on Romper Room which was followed up with a television advertisement for McDonald's. Since then she has appeared in a number of television commercials.
Eirlys had a featured role on the telemovie 'When Good Ghouls turn bad' which was book adaptation from the children's horror fiction novellas Goosebumps created and authored by R.L. Stine.
She has also had small brief roles on Australian television soap opera such as Home and Away, All Saints (TV Series), Young Lions and Water Rats.
Personal life
Eirlys is an out and proud lesbian and is a regular on the Sydney gay scene.
On May 6, when Siobhán was 11 her father committed [...] in Newcastle leaving herself, her older brother Thomas and half brother Alfred to attend a funeral which was held on her 12th birthday. Due to her fathers death Eirlys and her brother became estranged from the paternal side of their extended family (including their half brother Alfred) and was raised by their mother in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. When Eirlys was thirteen her Mother was diagnosed with three Glioblastoma multiforme Astrocytomas which in 2004 forced Eirlys and her brother to maintain their own independence and raise themselves.
It was not until May 2008, when Eirlys and her brother reconnected with a portion of their extended family and met their father's brother and sister.
Name Change
Eirlys legally removed her surname Davis to help herself disconnect from her fragmented childhood and start a fresh. She selected her middle name to be "Anne" as her Aunt, who she now describes as one of her adult influences, shares the same middle name.
