Sandy Brechin
Sandy Brechin is a Scottish musician and accordionist. He has developed an instantly recognisable style and is considered one of Scotland's best accordionists.
He is a member of three bands, the Sandy Brechin Band, Bùrach and The Sensational Jimi Shandrix Experience and has released material with all three bands as well as his own two solo albums, Out of his Box and Out of his Tree. He was also a member of Seelyhoo.
In February 1997, he played in the final to select Britain’s entry for the Eurovision Song contest 1997, as part of the band “Do Re Mi, with Kerry”. The song was called “Yodel in the Canyon of Love”. The song came second to Katrina And The Waves, who went on to win Eurovision.
Brechin also runs his own record company, Brechin All Records, an independent which specialise in Scottish Folk music. He also published a book of his collected tunes Out of his Mind.
