Rana Talwar

Rana Talwar (born 1948) is the son of a bureaucrat. He began his career with the Bombay branch of Citibank. He rose to the head of Citibank's consumer business in the Asia Pacific and Middle-East sectors, before joining StanChart in 1977 as executive director of its African, Middle-Eastern and South Asian operations. In 1998, he was appointed Group CEo of Standard Chartered Bank. He left in 2001 and now is Chairman of the Centurion Bank of Punjab. Under his leadership the Centurion Bank of Punjab has recently taken over Lord Krishana Bank having it's branches mainly in Western and Southern India, the combined entity has now pan Indian presence.The Centurion Bank of Punjab has been rated as the 'Fastest Growing Bank'by the CNBC-Business Today.The Bank is being run by the ex-citibankers. The Bank is growing inorganically.
