Purushottam Yadav

Purushottam Yadav (born 1998) is a Nepalese activist from the Siraha District.

Education

Yadav initially studied engineering before completing a bachelor's degree in mass communication and journalism at Sharda University in Greater Noida, India. He later earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Kathmandu.

Activism

Yadav helped organize the September 8 protests at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu, initiating a digital campaign called "Wake Up Nepal." He was among the key youth representatives who negotiated demands following the protests. When the protests led to clashes with authorities, Yadav publicly stated that the movement was intended to be peaceful and noted that he had formally sought prior permission for the gathering from the District Administration Office.

Political involvement

During the transition to the interim government led by Prime Minister Sushila Karki, Yadav publicly urged citizens to give the new administration time to address structural issues. Ahead of the March 2026 elections, his advocacy has focused on youth political participation and government reform rather than endorsing specific political candidates.
