Miraj Dhungana
Miraj Dhungana is a Gen Z activist from Nepal who became popular during the September 2025 Gen Z protests. These protests called for accountability, fairness, end of corruption, jail for criminal politicians.
After the movement, Dhungana announced that he would form a new political party to continue the goals of the protest. The party is part of the “Garikhana Deu” campaign, which means “Let us make a living in peace.” His aim is to bring organized and lasting change to Nepali politics.
He said the party will not take part in any elections until some key changes are made, such as having a directly elected prime minister, giving voting rights to Nepalis living abroad, and creating a public body to fight corruption. Dhungana believes these steps are important to make the political system more fair and transparent.
Dhungana became one of the main voices together with Sudan Gurung of the Gen Z movement, which wanted new leadership and better opportunities for young people in Nepal. He said the movement was not led by any single person and was open to everyone who wanted change.
However, after the protests, he reported receiving threats for his activism. Outside politics, Miraj Dhungana is also an entrepreneur with experience as a Creative Director and Creative Associate. He has completed a Master’s degree in Business Administration, which has helped him understand leadership and management. He is active on social media platforms like Instagram, where he shares updates about his work and ideas.
