Order for Services to the Fatherland

Order Services to the Fatherland Armenia

The Order for Services to the Fatherland (), sometimes rendered Order for Services to the Fatherland, is a state order of the Republic of Armenia.

History

The order was established by the law "On the State Awards and Honorary Titles of the Republic of Armenia" (Law ), adopted by the National Assembly on 21 June 2014, signed by the president on 18 July 2014, and entered into force on 9 August 2014, replacing a similarly named order that had existed under separate legislation since 2005.

According to Article 55, paragraph 16 of the Constitution of Armenia, state orders are conferred by the president of the republic, who issues a decree for each award.

Degrees

The order has two degrees:

  • First-degree Order for Services to the Fatherland;
  • Second-degree Order for Services to the Fatherland.

The first degree is the higher of The Two.

The first-degree order is awarded to senior servicemen of the Armed Forces and other troops, senior officials of public and local self-government bodies, as well as citizens of Armenia and ethnic Armenians who are not citizens of the Republic. The second-degree order is awarded on similar grounds for other significant services to the state.

Notable recipients
