Netcetera

Netcetera is an international holding company, owned by its founders and headquartered in Zurich (Switzerland). The company is located in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Germany, Austria, Macedonia and the United Arab Emirates. Netcetera has 500 employees and is one of the leading software companies in Switzerland. The company offers standard products and custom software in a business-to-business environment. In its company history, Netcetera has implemented solutions for large-scale information and transaction systems in security and business critical environments for numerous Swiss and international organizations.

History and milestones

In January 1996, the web shop of a well-known Swiss pizza deliverer went online. The shop was developed by the founders of Netcetera. It was the very first pizza delivery online shop in Switzerland.

Netcetera was founded 1996 as a spin-off from the University of Zurich. In the last 20 years1, the company has also grown as a group. The international holding company today includes the companies Braingroup (since 2001), D1 Solutions (since 2006), Procentric (since 2015), SwissWallet (since 2015), Rhumbnet (since 2016), Cognism (since 2017) and Nexperts (since 2017).

Awards and innovations

In 2004, Netcetera won the first Swiss ICT Award2 with the Pathfinder project (today Path Coordination System3 (PCS) and in 2010 the Swiss ICT Award4 as a company.

Wemlin5 (previously Tramdroid) was the first application that Netcetera developed for the first iPhone generation in 2008. With this application for public transport, Netcetera laid the foundation for its mobile development business.

In 2010 Netcetera demonstrated pioneering spirit also in mobile banking: The PostFinance App6 was the first Swiss app with payment function. The high-security application developed by Netcetera also includes a search function for the nearest postal locations and current exchange information.

Since 2011, Netcetera has been PCI DSS certified7 and operates 3-D Secure solutions for customers worldwide.

In 2016, SwissWallet8, a platform for innovations in digital payment from Netcetera and the Swiss card industry, was launched9.
