Miss Latin America 2007

Miss América Latina 2007 was the twenty-first international edition of the Miss América Latina contest, and the twenty-third overall. The final event was held on June 15, 2007 in Riviera Maya, Mexico. At the conclusion of the pageant, Giannina Silva of Uruguay was crowned by outgoing titleholder, Melissa Quesada of the United States. Silva was later dethroned, however, and her first runner-up, Heidi Garcia of Guatemala was subsequently crowned the new Miss América Latina 2007

Trivia

  • Northern-French Catalonia participated for the first time. This was the only time that the "Northern" part of the name would be added, as it would compete as French Catalonia in subsequent years.
  • El Salvador last participated in 2004. Costa Rica last participated in 2005.
  • Despite participating in 2006, Belize, Bolivia, Catalonia, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland failed to participate this year.
  • Northern-French Catalonia placed for the first time.
  • Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Peru also placed in 2006.
  • Countries that had not placed for a while were: Panama (1996), Argentina, Costa Rica (2002), Venezuela (2003), Uruguay (2004) and Ecuador (2005).
