Luc Deacu

Luc Nicolae Deacu (born August 13, 1990 in Calarasi) is a Romanian football player, currently under contract at Impact de Montreal. Touted as one of the most promising young strikers in the MLS, he made his debut during the 2005/2006 season against Houston Dynamo and scored on his second match, against Colorado Rapids.

Deacu is a Romanian U21 international. Luc played against S.S. Lazio in a friendly match, Tommaso Rocchi said Deacu was an exceptional player. He also said he was impressed by Deacu.

He is considered "The new Mutu" by Romanian media and was a point of interest for teams such as Juventus, Stuttgart and Valencia.

Luc will be featured in the 2008/2009 CF Valencia lineup after a surprising transfer on Boxing Day. While the sum is undisclosed, Impact De Montreal manager Nick DeSantis was quoted as saying "This is a great chance for Luc to get some playing time and get a feel for the European game."
