City of a Hundred Spires

City of a Hundred Spires is a Ottawa, Canada-based band. The band's name is considered by some to be the nickname of the Czech Republic city Prague. Their sound can be described as instrumental rock. They formed in 2005 out of the ashes of The Perfect Dystopia. Notorious around the Ottawa and Montreal music scenes for the sheer volume of their live sets as for the fragility of the melodies they compose and to be "pushing the frontiers of instrumental rock". They self-released their first record Graveyard of Ships in 2008. It is currently available through the band's website and on Itunes.

They have toured Canada once in 2007 with fellow Toronto post-rocker's Tunturia. Over the years, they have played with the likes of Malajube, This Will Destroy You, Pelican, Okkervil River and many more. More recently, the band played Ottawa's Bluesfest 2009.

In late 2008, Carl Cléroux was asked to leave the band. He was quickly replaced by Brandon Ng. Unfortunately, one year later, Ng quit due to prior engagements. No drummer has stepped in.

Recently, the band has been composing songs for a new EP due in the near future.
