Olympic Housing

During the 2010 Olympics hosted in Vancouver, Lloyds Travel division Breakaway Vacations was one of the supporting companies in Destination 2010, which catered to finding housing for athletes and guests attending the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. Bruce Fougner, president of Lloyds Travel Group, estimated that at the time of the Olympics, there were at least 6,000 homeowners in and around Metro Vancouver looking for Olympic renters. The majority of new rental listings were people wanting to get away, he said.

Coverage

Fougner has appeared on CityTV’s Breakfast Television to present travel tips to their viewers and listeners. Copies of these interviews can be found on a YouTube channel. Lloyds Travel also provides travel editorials to provincial papers. Fougner has also donated to local hospital auxiliaries.
