List of characters in X-Men: Pryde of the X-Men

The following is an overview of the characters who appeared in the 1989 unsold X-Men television pilot entitled "Pryde of the X-Men".

X-Men

Colossus

Colossus appeared in the 1989, 30 minute animated one-shot Pryde of the X-Men VOICED by Dan Gilvezan.

Cyclops

Cyclops appeared in the Pryde of the X-Men animated pilot, wearing his old X-Men uniform from before he left. Michael Bell provided Cyclops' voice.

Dazzler

Dazzler appeared in the Pryde of the X-Men animated pilot as part of the X-Men's main roster. Alexandra Stoddart provided Dazzler's voice.

Kitty Pryde

Kitty Pryde (voiced by Kath Soucie) was a viewpoint character in the animated television one-shot Pryde of the X-Men, as the newest member of the team.

Nightcrawler

Nightcrawler (voiced by Neil Ross) appears in the 1989 cartoon Pryde of the X-Men, the pilot episode of an unproduced X-Men cartoon series. This was eventually released on VHS.

Storm

In 1989, Storm appeared in a TV pilot that later was released on video in Pryde of the X-Men. Andi Chapman provided her voice.

Wolverine

He appears in the 1989 animated television pilot Pryde of the X-Men. Neil Ross reprises the character (after portraying him on an episode of Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends), using an apparent Australian accent. This was due to the actor and director misunderstanding a line in the script. Wolverine calls the Australian mutant Toad "dingo", and rather than take that as an odd Australian slur, they assumed Wolverine to be Australian rather than Canadian.

Professor X

Charles Xavier appeared in the 1989 pilot Pryde of the X-Men, voiced by John Stephenson.

Brotherhood of Mutant Terrorists

The Brotherhood of Mutants appear in the 1989 animated television pilot Pryde of the X-Men, therein referred to as "The Brotherhood of Mutant Terrorists" and consists of Magneto, Toad, The Blob, Pyro, The Juggernaut, and White Queen. This Brotherhood was a mix of Magneto's group and Mystique's along with the previously unaffiliated Juggernaut and White Queen.

Blob

The Blob appears in the 1989 animated pilot X-Men: Pryde of the X-Men, voiced by Alan Oppenheimer, as a member of Magneto's Brotherhood of Mutants.

Juggernaut

Juggernaut appeared the X-Men pilot Pryde of the X-Men voiced by Patrick Pinney (1989).

Magneto

Magneto was the main villain in the animated X-Men pilot Pryde of the X-Men - his first actual animated appearance battling the X-Men. He was voiced by Earl Boen.

Asteroid M

In Pryde of the X-Men, Asteroid M appears as Magneto's base of operations. After his escape from prison thanks to the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants (primarily the White Queen), Magneto steals Cerebro's "mutant power circuit" from Kitty Pryde, to whom it had been given by Professor X for its protection. Once he obtains the circuit he and his Brotherhood go to Asteroid M, and with a machine, use the circuit to amplify Magneto's power in order to change the course of the "Scorpio" comet, aiming it towards Earth. However, the X-Men stop his attempt to destroy the Earth when Nightcrawler reprograms the controls and makes the comet hit Asteroid M instead, resulting in its destruction.

Pyro

Pyro appeared in the original X-Men animated pilot episode, "Pryde of the X-Men" voiced by Pat Fraley. He was identified as Australian.

Toad

Toad appears in the pilot episode Pryde of the X-Men voiced by Frank Welker.

White Queen

Emma Frost is a member of the Brotherhood of Mutants in the Pryde of the X-Men (1989) animated television pilot voiced by Susan Silo. In addition to her telepathic abilities, she displays the ability to create "psy-bolts" - sometimes called "psionic energy spears" or "psychic harpoons" - that can damage physical objects, similar to her character's abilities in early comics.

Other characters

Lockheed

Lockheed appeared in Pryde of the X-Men voiced by Frank Welker. He was inexplicably a pest on Asteroid M, the headquarters of the Brotherhood of Mutants. He managed to escape Asteroid M with the X-Men.
