She was then captured by the Cabal and transformed into Phage by their magic. Tested in the Cabal Pits, her Pardic skills, Cabal magical prowess and rotting touch made her a formidable adversary and the Cabal's star attraction. The illusionist Ixidor, also a pit fighter, lost his partner Nivea to Phage. He later discovered an ability to make his illusions real and created an angel avatar, Akroma, to avenge Nivea. Phage and Akroma embark on a fanatical and devastating war. By now, Phage has also become romantically involved with the Cabal Patriarch, who shares a similar death touch that can cancel out Phage's own. Phage becomes pregnant and bears Kuberr, the reincarnation of the Cabal god himself. After learning that Akroma may try to conquer a remote city of war deserters to turn against the Cabal, Phage races her own army to reach the city first. Both armies reach the city at the same time and a three-way battle ensues. At its climax, Kamahl eliminated the three army generals in one strike - Phage, Akroma, and Zagorka of the deserters. This act creates Karona, The Embodiment of all of Dominaria's magic. (Card: ) (Onslaught)
