Introduction

Kitchen Academy – Hollywood, a branch of California School of Culinary Arts, is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools. The academy is located in the heart of Hollywood on Sunset Boulevard and the surrounding Los Angeles areas.

Academics

The Kitchen Academy – Hollywood has a Professional Culinary Arts Program where students can earn a Professional Culinary Arts Diploma.

  • Professional Culinary Arts (PCA) Program

Students can earn a diploma in Professional Culinary Arts in as little as 30 weeks through the Accelerated Training System. In this program students study for five terms and are able to begin cooking the first day of the classes. Once the student has successfully completed the program, they should be qualified for a culinary or hospitality entry-level position.

Admissions

The Kitchen Academy - Hollywood enrolls participants able to merit and benefit from the educational activities offered. All prospective students must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, complete admission documents and pass the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam with a 13 or higher test score. Those who do not pass this exam on the first attempt must wait one week before retaking the exam. If a student fails to successfully pass the second time, he/she will have to attempt the exam one year later.

Campus

The facilities of Kitchen Academy – Hollywood consist of industry-current equipment and workstations. These stations were designed specifically for Kitchen Academy and feature:

  • Kitchen Labs
  • A Multi-Purpose room for classes, school and public events, orientations and more
  • Student Area and Resource Center
  • Conference, Break and Copy/Workrooms

The classes at Kitchen Academy are designed to be intimate and succeed in doing this by having a maximum of 32 students in a class, maintaining a 16:1 student to chef instructor ratio.

Accreditation

Kitchen Academy is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schoolsto award diplomas. ACICS, which is listed as a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the United States Department of Education, is located at 750 First St.N.E., Suite 980, Washington D.C. 20002-6780.
